Cake decorating in culinary school
Biking at Balboa Park!
About this Cook
Cooking is my passion and I love to vary what I make. I am a pastry cook at a fine dining restaurant in San Diego. I love my job and want to continue learning and experimenting every day!
My favorite things to cook
Anything and everything! Most especially spicy food and obviously all baked goods (cakes are my least favorite though). I really like to try new things and am open to most things.
My cooking triumphs
Making my first thanksgiving dinner for my whole family. The turkey was so moist and the stuffing was amazing!
My cooking tragedies
I remember making cookies for my neighbors when I was young. After I gave them the cookies, I realized that I had put salt instead of sugar. I panicked, but they never said anything about it to me!

Orange Pumpkin Loaf
I would give this a five- but the whole orange thing made me drop it to a 4. I'm a pastry cook and let me tell you...there is no benefit to putting the whole orange in...it will just add bitterness. Peel the zest and segment the orange. Then blend it. I made it this way and it was delicious. It is a very moist and heavy bread. I used dried cranberries and it all went well together. Will become a regular for me.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing
Absolutely amazing. I usually am not a person who loves fruit in savory dishes, but this turned out perfect. The fruit added extra depth of flavor and more of a tanginess than a sweetness. I cooked this outside the bird and added extra stock. Make sure to add enough salt and herbs.

Terrific Turkey Chili
Very very good. Made exactly according to directions, except for adding a little hot sauce. I did not add beans, but next time I will add garbanzos because I think they will add a great addition of flavor and texture.
