Sausage Brunch Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
This is more like a quiche, made a few changes: 6 eggs, 1 lb sausage, 1 1/2 Tbs dried chopped chives, baked at 350 for 30 minutes. Cooled slightly and cut into small squares for a buffet. Will use this recipe again & again!

Autumn Apple Tart

Good pastry, can be rolled out on lightly floured board. Let rest in tart pan while preparing filling & topping, made 2x topping for 12 in tart pan. This is a keeper!

Jalapeno Pepper Jelly

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2007
After a bumper crop of peppers I made this jelly. 12 hours in it's still kind of runny (taste is good) will use anyway and tweak as needed. Used red & green jalapenos. seeded & put seeds in chesescloth & cooked in syrup mixture for added heat (removed before filling jars,) flipped jars about every 4 hours for good distibution of pepper pieces, very pretty.

Mushroom Cube Steaks

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2007
I was looking for a quick recipe for cube steak...this fit the bill & was very tasty! I didn't use flour on the steaks, like many others I used red wine to deglaze the pan. Served with homemade hash browns & steamed veggie medley. I'll use this recipe over & over. Thanks for a winner!

Pineapple Cranberry Relish

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2006
Really good...I don't usually like the more traditional recipes. This one really cuts the tartness of the berries, few changes (omitted nuts & added 1/4 tsp grated ginger) This will become a standard in my holiday file. Thanks!

Winter Fruit Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2006
The dressing for this salad was very similar to an older recipe that I had and lost. I took this salad to a church potluck, Made some changes I had no lemons, but used 3 Tbsp cider vinegar & used Splenda instead of sugar. As recommended by many others I used a different kind ofr cheese (Edam, small cube) also drained mandarin oranges, left out the nuts, many with nut allergies. This recipe made a lot of dressing, but it will not be wasted...will keep to liven up quick daily salads, Thanks for the great recipe*****Lots of

Apple Spice Custard Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2006
This cake surprised me! I took it to a fall celebration at my church, rave reviews from really good cooks. It had everything I in a recipelike going for it. Easy, to prepare & transport & great flavor. I only had 2 medium apples so I used those + 3/4 cup chunky applesauce & sprinkled custard with cinnamon after baking.

Great recipe! I used fresh herbs fm my garden (no shallots, minced onion instead)added 1 clove of crushed garlic. My only regret is that I didn't have more lamb chops...will do this recipe again and use pork chops. It fit the bill quick, easy & delicious!
