Chewy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
This recipe is very sweet. Definitely cut back on the sugar as the honey adds a lot of sweetness on its own. A great starter recipe on granola bars. Thank you.

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2008
These were absolutely the best ribs ever! Took then out of the cooker when I got home, grilled them for 5-10 mins, then started to base them with the BBQ sauce for another 5-10 mins. Fall off the bone. Didn't have any peppers but it did not need them! Try them. You won't go back to the old fashioned broil and baste!

Creamy Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2008
Truly Amazing..... the one thing to add is 1/2 cup of white wine before the flour. Let the alcohol burn off for 2-3 mins. Soooo good.....thanks for the recipe (ps....i put the cream in but this recipe definitely does NOT need it...the colour and taste is so good before too)

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2008
These cookies tasted really good but the batter was really dry and crumbly. I had to roll up balls in my palms and then flatten a little. They are a little cake like as well. I even read over the recipe 5 times and looked at my dirty dishes to make sure I used the right measuring tools. I am still looking for the best chocolate cookie recipe! Thanks

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2007
These were really tasty...I don't really like the mixing in one pan since it is hard to make sure all the ingredients are incorporated. I had a muffing that was full of salt bc I didn't mix it enough. I will make again but I will melt the butter in the microwave and use the Kitchenaid mixer. Great recipe though!

Coquilles St. Jacque

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2007
My husband LOVED this,,,he thought it was restaurant material! Some changes I made though. I used 6 jumbo scallops (the bigger ones I halved) because I was afraid the smaller ones would overcook and get to rubbery. I seared them, then I used a splash of apple juice in place of wine, 1 tblspn of mayo ONLY, marble cheese (that is all I had) and some parmesean. Once that all blended together, turn off the heat, add the scallops and a splash of cream....maybe 2-3 tblspns. Amazing!

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2007
okay...these pancakes were incredible tasting! They really were good...but just a few comments 1. the batter was way thick (not at all runny even by following the recipe exactly). I actually needed to add more milk! 2.) one reader suggested that you freeze the extras for toaster pancakes another day. The problem is these pancakes rise quite a bit so putting the pancakes in the toaster will toast the outside (which will smell and taste great) but the center of the pancake will be rock hard as it is still frozen. Definitely half this recipe or cook when you have lots of people over. Thanks for the recipe!

Chicken Enchiladas I

amazing!!! The filling is what is killer in this recipe. For a filling with more depth...shred the chicken instead of cubing it! I want some now! PS...didn't use a full can of tomatoe sauce though

Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies II

really tasty! will make again (use butterscotch chips instead) BUT don't put this batter in the fridge because the cookies will not flatten a little which will make them not so crunchy !

Sweet and Sour Drumettes

Reviewed: May 3, 2007
I didn't fry the chicken but I definitely will next time. I added some hot sauce and jalepeno sauce to the liquid portions. Gave some heat to all the sweetness!I also added honey and some cajun spice! I think that there is too much liquid when it is baking so I drained the liquid into a non-stick pan and let the chicken crisp up on broil, turning the chicken often. While the chicken was on broil, I let the remaining liquid in pan boil for a bit to thicken the sauce. Amazing as a dip for the chicken on the side. I had also made coconut shrimp and these were delicious in the spicy/sweet sauce!

it was alright. I though that it tasted better with chips or tacos instead of eating it on its own. Good as a filling dip. Easy to prepare though.

I used much more garlic and had only one egg. I supplemented it with more milk instead. I forgot to mention that I did not use the tomatoes at all...just water in the bottom of the pan.

These were not very good at all with the lamb. It probably would be better with pork chops. The bread crumb mixture was not crunchy at all and I even broiled the lamb after. Sorry:(
