Great cookie. Made it as is except put it in the fridge for an hour before rolling in sugar. Yummy.

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2009
These were wonderful. I did half whole wheat and half white flour. I "fried" them in a skillet and they turned out wonderful. Some puffed, some didn't, but that was ok, I wanted them for the spinach and feta pita bakes on this website. YUMMO!!

Butter Beef

This was ok. I did brown the meat, but there was no juices in the crock pot when it was done cooking, so couldn't make gravy w/ it.

Even better than the recipe I am now using. We loved these. Made inside out bacon cheeseburgers w/ them. Delish. Thanks for a great recipe.

Very good. I would like to add a bit of water next time to make some gravy.

Pork Chops Stuffed with Smoked Gouda and Bacon

This was outstanding. I used a pork loin which I butterflied, then stuffed and tied it up. My husband grilled it and it was delicious.

Orange, Walnut, Gorgonzola and Mixed Greens Salad with Fresh Citrus Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
This was the best salad. I used pecans in place of the walnuts and feta cheese instead of the gorgonzola. I made the dressing exactly as stated, juicing my own oranges and using brown sugar instead of white. It was so good. I did halve the dressing recipe as it makes plenty. I could eat this salad every night of the week. Thanks.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2009
These are very good, but not the best I've ever had. I used half whole wheat flour in the muffin and all whole wheat flour in the topping. I also used brown sugar in the topping. I added about 1/2 t vanilla in the muffin mix. I also used applesauce in place of the oil. I made 9 muffins out of it. Thanks for a good recipe.

Oven Brown Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
This is a great way to eat brown rice. My husband, who doesn't like rice, even liked it. My mother in law gave me a similar recipe that uses white rice. I used garlic powder instead of salt since several other reviews said it was too salty. Thanks for a great brown rice recipe.

Real N'awlins Muffuletta

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
I can't give it 5 stars. I really wanted 3 1/2, but it doesn't give that as an option. I used all the ingredients except the pickled cauliflower. I couldn't find it. I used a round sourdough bread and even though I dug out as much bread as I could, it still didn't work. The olive salad was great, but I too thought there was too much meat in it it. I think w/ some tweaking for our tastes, I might try it again sometime down the road.

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Very good. I omitted the white sugar in the sweet potato base. I also added 1/2 cups of rolled oats to the topping w/ an additional 1T of butter. Turned out yummy.

Rick's Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
This was good, but too sweet for me. I halved the recipe and used half butter/half Crisco. If we could cut down the sugar a bit, it would be much better.

Smothered Beef Short Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
These were good. There was definitely too much liquid in it, but I just thickened it up for the gravy. The main thing I didn't like was the amount of thyme. I think it was way too overpowering. 1 t. would have been enough.

Cashew Avocado Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
This was absolutely delicious. I cooked up the bacon and crumbled it in the salad and served it on homeade rolls. I didn't add the cheese. It didn't need it. My husband and I loved it. Thanks so much for a great recipe.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake III

This was absolutely delicious. The cream cheese made it very nice. I did what one reviewer said and used 1/4 cup buttermilk. It was very good. We shared half with a friend who just had a baby.

Whole Grain Waffles

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
These are very good. The only thing I changed was I used all applesauce in place of the oil and I used half milk and half half-n-half. I added blueberries, but think they would be really good with chocolate chips. ;-) The only problem I had with them is that they were very soft so a bit hard to get out of the waffle iron. Thanks for a yummy recipe.

Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans

Reviewed: May 18, 2008
This was delicious. I had to use canned green beans since the fresh ones at the store didn't look good. I used the juice from the canned green beans in place of the water. If I did it again w/ the canned green beans, I would cut back the salt to 1/2 t. Thank you for a great recipe. My husband and son yummed it right up.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: May 13, 2008
This was very yummy. The only thing I did differently was to use 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 cup applesauce and 1/4 cup canola oil. I think you could actually put this into three loaf pans and make them a bit taller, but I will have to try that next time. Thanks for a great, super moist, banana bread. We loved it.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
I'm giving this 4 stars because of the changes I made. I always try to make the recipe as written, but after reading the reviews I did make the following changes. I used old fashioned oats. I used 1/4 cup applesauce and 1/4 cup oil. I added 1 t vanilla. I used 1/2 cup ap flour, 1/2 cup whole wheat flour and 1/4 cup flaxseed. I used 3 1/2 t baking powder and 3/4 t salt. I used miniature chocolate chips. They turned out soooo good. They were very moist and I think the topping made the muffin even better. My 3 year old yummed it right up. Thanks for a great starter recipe.
