Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
I followed the recipe EXACTLY. I don't know where I went wrong :(. I poured the mixture into a 9x13 baking pan just as the instructions specified - After 30 min, I turned the oven light on and saw that the mixture had overflowed making a big mess inside my oven. The cake was flat and messy, the flavor was bland. I was very disappointed because I was expecting an excellent result based on the reviews.

Penne Pasta with Spinach and Bacon

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
Its rare that I cook, usually I buy prepared bags of frozen meals but this recipe was SOOOOO easy. I didn't have spinach or olive oil and it still came out EXCELLENT. I added ground beef and monterrey cheese at the end and it was excellent. I love EASY recipes.

Churros

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2007
If your churros are burning on the outside while still doughy on the inside, try lowering your heat. The longer they are in the oil, the better they will cook inside without burning outside, they will still be crispy. I use my beef jerky making kit. It comes with a tool like a caulking gun, you remove the tube, feed the seasoned beef, in this case, the dough and press the trigger to pipe out the dough. This kit comes with 3 attachments, small tube, large tube and flat tube. Works wonderfully.

Beef Marinade I

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2001
THIS IS THE BEST MARINADE I HAVE EVER HAD!!! I grilled shish kabobs with it (I had never made them before, plus I used mesquite charcoal) and my husband flipped. HE LOVED THEM. I am on the low carb diet so I just had the meat and I LOVED IT TOO!!! I didnt have the clove so I added 1 1/2 T pureed garlic (available in a jar in the produce dept) and I only marinated it for 1 hour) Even so, It was fabulous.

Hot Wings

My husband is a chicken wing fanatic and he did not like the taste of these. I think these wings would be better withou the powder garlic.

Creamy Caramel Flan

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2001
I loved this recipe. I grew up in a border town where I'd go to Mexico often and I always loved Flan. I was always too afraid to make it and boy am I glad I finally decided to make it. I had never had it with the cream cheese and I'll have to admit it gives the flan a genuine flavor. Absolutely fabulous.

Black Bottom Cupcakes I

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2001
I really enjoyed the taste of these cupcakes. I didnt quite like the chocolate chips in the cream cheese mixture. All the chips went to the bottom of the cupcake and they got stuck so I ended up with bottomless cupcakes. If it were not for the chocolate chips, I'd rate this recipe *****.
