About this Cook
I'm a 38 year old mom who is enjoying life with a toddler, lol. I started cooking at a young age when my parents divorced and my mom had to go back to work. Cooking soon became a big interest and by age 12 I was cooking full meals. I enjoy entertaining and cooking for others and I'm always willing to try a new recipe on my 'guinea pigs', lol.
My favorite things to cook
I love raw or living foods and while thats considered more of un-cooking, its presents its own interesting techniques. I'm not a full vegetarian though and have yet to meet a good steak that I didn't like. I'd say my favorite things to cook are health, vegetarian meals or yummy treats for a sweet tooth.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking triumph? hmmmm - maybe the ability to make a fabulous, completely from scratch Thanksgiving dinner by the age 12, or the cake that I created that looked like a cactus garden. I fooled many people with that one and it remains one of my favorite creations.
My cooking tragedies
Ohhh let's see.. the pine nuts I burnt to a crisp while I 'just did one other thing quickly', the grilled cheese sandwiches in a new pan that burnt in record time, the orange flavored cake that looked more like a hat from the underside rising up in the center, the worlds driest roast that made me hesitant to try again for a year, lol.

Classic Waffles
i had just gotten home from grocery shopping and realized I didn't have enough waffle mix for our planned breakfast. I decided to look on allrecipes.com and appropriately enough this recipe was recipe of the day. I was in a hurry to feed my 2 year old son and equally hungry/grumpy husband and left out the sugar and vanilla. They still tasted fabulous and I won't use a mix again. Thanks!!
