About this Cook
I'm a recent college grad, and I was so excited to move into my own apartment and have my own kitchen! Too bad I have no counterspace or cabinets for storing anything! I bake a lot to de-stress, so it really helps that I have a sweet tooth! I love to cook, and am thinking of going to culinary school.
My favorite things to cook
All desserts- cakes, cookies, brownies... Pasta dishes- they're usually pretty easy... I'm up for trying anything and everything! I am a firm believer that the Crock Pot is the greatest kitchen invention of all time.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I try to help out cooking on Thanksgiving and Christmas, but Mum and Nana have established a monopoly of sorts. Generally, dishes are pretty simple and straightforward, but always very tasty.
My cooking triumphs
My boyfriend and I made a devil's food cake with peppermint frosting for his family's Christmas party a few years ago- I was instantly welcomed in, under the stipulation that I make the cake every year! I also made a pasta dinner for 12 military college men, complete with ziti, sauce, garlic bread, and salad. Not very complicated, true, but I loved every minute of it!
My cooking tragedies
I burned ground beef onto a large pot belonging to one of my roommates. I was trying to make chili without a CrockPot, but wound up making a disaster. She had a set of gorgeous stainless cookware, so I was afraid of having to buy her a new pot. It took 4 days of soaking, scrubbing, and finally a heavy dose of baking soda (once it dawned on me) to get it all off!

Oatmeal Crispies I
Yummmmmmm! I skipped the shaping/chilling/cutting/smushing steps, since I'm not a fan of extra steps in cookie baking. I swapped the walnuts for chocolate chips, and just stuck the extra dough in the fridge as each batch baked. I made rounded teaspoonfuls, and got 4 dozen cookies out of the recipe. I wound up cooking each batch about 14 minutes-- crispy on the outside, a little chewy in the middle.

Vegan Chocolate Cake
SO. GOOD. Moist, flavorful, quick to make, and absolutely delicious. It'll be my go-to cake recipe from now on!

Snow Peak Frosting
Bland and strange consistency. Mine tasted like egg whites and not much else, which wasn't what I was going for. I doubled the vanilla and added sugar, but it didn't seem to help much. I should have just gone to the store to buy butter and confectioner's sugar and saved myself the hassle.
