Grandma Minnie's Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies

Delicious cookies. The dough was very easy to work with and the cutout cookies hold their shape beautifully. Thanks for the great recipe - this one's replacing MY grandma's recipe (don't tell her!).

Mimi's Zucchini Pie

Delicious. I reduced the oil by half, added a middle layer of tomatoes and about a teaspoon of thyme (because it's great with both eggs and zucchini). I'll definitely be making this one again.

Excellent! Added garlic, and used 1 cup ricotta plus 1/2 cup sour cream (my kids aren't crazy about the taste of sour cream but loved it this way).

Sweet Corn Muffins

I discovered at the last minute that I was out of cornmeal, but I had masa flour so I used 1 cup regular flour and 1 cup masa. They came out deliciously light and sweet. The family gobbled them up - I'll make these often, with these changes.

Pretty good, but not outstanding. Really... 20 ingredients for a "quick" recipe for a working mother? Could cut out half of this stuff and it would still work just as well and would better fit into my definition of quick.

Easy Vodka Sauce

Delicious and easy, as advertised. Added oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes. Froze half, and served the other half with chicken and fusilli - yum!

These are great. I added shredded carrots and cucumber matchsticks, and omitted the mint. Love the fish sauce. The hoisin is too thick and sweet for my taste.

Day-After-Thanksgiving Turkey Carcass Soup

I made this soup this morning and we just had it for lunch. I followed the recipe exactly except for the peas (didn't have any on hand) but next time will be sure to add those. This soup is so great!! Everyone loves it and several people had seconds - the flavors are excellent and we really like how the stuffing adds another dimension to the soup. Definitely a keeper - next time I'll probably cut back on the rice by about 1/2 cup - the proportion of rice to other ingredients was a little heavy. Thanks for an awesome recipe!!

Flatlander Chili

Delicious chili! I made it in a crock pot, cut the tomato juice in half and added diced tomatoes. Next time I'll leave out the tomato juice and just use diced tomatoes - the liquid didn't reduce in the crock pot like it would on the stove, so it wasn't as thick as we would have liked.

Thai Chicken Balls

These are very tasty. I made 40 balls and baked them at 400 for 20 minutes. Used sweet red chili sauce for dipping. Also good dipped in Newman's Light Sesame Ginger dressing.
