I am 29, married for 2.5 years, and I have 2 daughters. Olivia is 6, and Vanessa is 11 months. I got my diploma a year ago for medical transcription, however cannot get a job without 2 years of experience! Huge Bummer!! When my husband and I were dating, we agreed he would do the cooking, I would do the cleaning. Most of the time that is the way it is, however, I do have to do some cooking now and then, which is what brought me to this website. I still hate to cook, but have found this site to be very helpful! Thanks!
My favorite things to cook
Anything simple and quick. My husband loves beef, me and my daughter love chicken, so we do alot of experimenting with those two meats. I love pasta and mexican, but haven't done much cooking in those areas. I have saved a few recipes and plan on trying them soon.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't really have any. My mom always did all the cooking. I never had to, and didn't have an interest, so unfortunately I didn't pick up any great recipes from her. I regret not being more involved back then.
My cooking triumphs
My husband is an excellent cook, and does most of the cooking. But one night I tried a stew recipe, but changed alot of ingredients to what I knew my family liked, and my husband loved it! I also took a basic potato soup recipe and added lots, which he couldn't get enough of. I make those two often, and there is never a complaint. Those would be my shining moments in the cooking department.
My cooking tragedies
I love angel food cake, thought I'd try making one. It comes from a box with all the directions, how simple, right? I used a bundt pan that was apparently too small, and it overflowed inside the oven and burnt. I haven't tried again since. I have many horrible cooking moments, I'm not very good and am always calling my husband at work with questions about things mentioned in cook books that I don't understand.
