I am 45yo And just had gastric bypass surgery. I have just found a new love for cooking as i can eat as much as I used to, I love cooking for my partner Michael, I really have to particular favorite style, but i do seem to really like baking. So cooking for sustenance baking for fun. So far its been baking I just made a pumpkin pie from scratch even the crust I was amazed it was so exciting, and came out delicious, Michael is not easy to please with food so it is exciting when it works out. My heritage is Italian, but the fancy dinner in my house growing up was breaded and fried pork chops, buttered noodles and peas. Don't get me wrong very tasty but my mother was not exactly a culinary giant. I am excited about trying new and exciting thing, maybe mediterranean My first triumph was an easy enchilada crock pot recipe I found on this site Michael loved it....yea me When i first got my crock pot I thought you just trough in meat and veggies and the slow cooker does the blending for you...oops. O well live and learn at least the mush that came out was...well kinda edible. I am now learning about spices.mmmmmmm fun.
