About this Cook
I am 45yo And just had gastric bypass surgery. I have just found a new love for cooking as i can eat as much as I used to, I love cooking for my partner Michael, I really have to particular favorite style, but i do seem to really like baking. So cooking for sustenance baking for fun.
My favorite things to cook
So far its been baking I just made a pumpkin pie from scratch even the crust I was amazed it was so exciting, and came out delicious, Michael is not easy to please with food so it is exciting when it works out.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My heritage is Italian, but the fancy dinner in my house growing up was breaded and fried pork chops, buttered noodles and peas. Don't get me wrong very tasty but my mother was not exactly a culinary giant. I am excited about trying new and exciting thing, maybe mediterranean
My cooking triumphs
My first triumph was an easy enchilada crock pot recipe I found on this site Michael loved it....yea me
My cooking tragedies
When i first got my crock pot I thought you just trough in meat and veggies and the slow cooker does the blending for you...oops. O well live and learn at least the mush that came out was...well kinda edible. I am now learning about spices.mmmmmmm fun.

Never Fail Pie Crust II
I love this pie crust it is so easy to do. The only thing I do to make it a little easier is, I dust the top of the dough before forming it to the pie pan it make it so much easier and is a lot less sticking to your fingers.
