About this Cook
I was born and raised on a farm and started cooking with the Ohio 4-H clubs. I am a telecommunications professional for a southern california city. I love to unwind all that technology with cooking from scratch.
My favorite things to cook
Homemade pasta with sauce ingredients from my garden. Smoking meat, holiday dinners.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Prime Rib dinner on Christmas Eve,
My cooking triumphs
Learning to make home made pasta, learning to can (a lost art by the way) my own tomatoes.
My cooking tragedies
Making pasta with Semolina Flour. I still can't make that work!

Real Hummus
This is excellent! I have tried hummus several times, but was disappointed but with the list of ingredients, I should have liked it. I guess you just have to make it yourself! Thanks for the recipe.

Four Cheese Macaroni
I love baked Macaroni and Cheese...but hate the box. I have a couple of recipes that I go back and forth between because they have different flavors, and this is one of them. I just love it...I make the recipe just as it is written, but perhaps get a little more cheese in because I'm eyeballing it. To me, this consistency is perfect. Old fashioned baked macaroni & Cheese has a lot of body to it and without the eggs in this recipe, it would be too gooey for me and too much the consistency of the box. It's a matter of personal preference. This recipe is just delicious.

Apple Dumplings with Rich Cinnamon Sauce
Let me tell you, this recipe is a **winner**. I'm from Ohio and there is a meat market where you can purchase the frozen dumplings and sauce to make at home and when my parents fly here (California) they bring them with...several packs because I've never seen a recipe that duplicates them. This is it. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I feel like this is a taste of home.
