About this Cook
I am originally from The Bahamas cooking is a big part of family get togethers and a hobby of mine. I am only 23 years of age, but I grew up in a family where my mother cooked constantly. I have a great time cooking, but enjoying eating even more :-)
My favorite things to cook
I like cooking seafood, I think seafood holds the natural salt and tangy flavor that I am used to in my country. Pan seared, fried, baked, I love shrimps and scallops and fish...anything out of the ocean I love to eat.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is a traditional Bahamian family that cooks a lot of seafood, including the conch which is a popular food in The Bahamas. Everything is a bit more spicy that regular food, and we tend to cook meals with peas and rice, a vegetable, and a meat.
My cooking triumphs
I am very good at chicken curry and souse. Two foods native to The Bahamas.
My cooking tragedies
I tried a shrimp curry - and it dried out! I was preparing it for a party and left it heating for entirely too long :-( Needless to say - a BIG tragedy...chewy shrimp is not tasteful.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili
All the ingredients make for an awesome chili. I thought it was a bit spicy first, but the cheese calms the taste down a bit.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips
Really good appetizer for parties. Try and let this be the very last thing you make before the party starts as it can look a bit "old" after a while. If it lasts!

Oregon Salmon Patties
Very easy, very delicious, I put my crackers in, as I thought the consistency was a bit "runny". But other than that it was awesome!!
