About this Cook
I am all about Mexican food and constantly try new items. I am also a small amount of N.W.Wa. Indian so I also have a very deep pride and love for their food. My Grandmother and my Mother are awesome bakers and cooks. Mom inspires me to be brave about implementing my own ideas.
My favorite things to cook
Did I say Mexican? I also seem to favor the all day slow cooking recipes. I work random days and somewhat random hours so I depend on thinking ahead and making stews, chilie, swiss steak, roasts of different sorts and what ever else that takes a good while.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Stollen, Fruit Breads, Enchiladas, Tamales, Beans and Rice at Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
Awesome Tamales on my first attempt, paella, Homemade refried beans, One time on a whim I made fried chicken and added cumin and cinnamon Oh my gosh!!!!
My cooking tragedies
For me to have the perfect loaf of home baked bread, it is imperative that I make it often or I lose my touch. I gifted my bread which had a wad of dough in the center. I have also gifted jars of jam that were runny too. Oh well, try, try again! I am sure their are a bazillion others..

Ranger Cookies II
These cookies awesome! I have used this recipe at least 12 times and have followed it to a tee each time. My 8th grader and his pals call these cookies gangster or the bomb. (This is good) Sweet cookie kisses to Rhonda!!

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits
Goodness, these are the bomb! I know a good buscuit and this is it. I don't change anything each time I make them unless I have to.

Zucchini Pineapple Loaf
I used this recipe a few times already and have it on my list again. Thank You Carol! I love the idea of more brown sugar and less white but I also found the idea of browning the walnuts first extremly interesting. I usually brown cumin seeds for flavor so why not?
