About this Cook
I'm married and have two sons. I enjoy being a stay-at-home mom. Yeah! I get to play house!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake, especially sweet stuff. Really, I like to try all sorts of new recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I adore my dad's lasagna, chili, banana cream pie, cookies, buckeyes, etc. We are in the process of establishing our own cooking traditions, taking some recipes from each of our families.
My cooking triumphs
Overcoming my aversion to working with raw meat. I couldn't stand it!
My cooking tragedies
I was making a veggie ranch pizza. I am the type of cook who does not stray from what the recipe says. Anyhow, it called for tons of fresh vegetables and tons of ranch dressing. So I put all of it on the pizza. It ended up being a mound! We had a terrible time trying to get it on the pizza stone. Then, while it was baking, the ranch dressing started sliding off the pizza. Next to go were the cheese and veggies. It was a terrible mess. I felt so bad that I started to cry. We took a picture of the final mess so that we could laugh at it someday, and then went out for dinner.

Pineapple Pork Chops
Not bad at all, but it could use a little tweaking to make it an awesome dish. The meat needed a little more cook time, about 15 minutes more. I was out of soy sauce and substituted worcestershire sauce, which moved it further into the realm of sweet, but it was still good. It needed something zippy, though: cayenne pepper or garlic next time.

Winter Fruit Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing
I only made the dressing, not the salad. It was fantastic! So tasty, and not too heavy.
