I'm a homeschooled senior in highschool. I'm the oldest of four kids (so my cooking has to pass very particular judges :D) I was helping Mom and Dad cook when I was three years old, and started cooking meals by myself when I was 9. Cooking is becoming a lost art these days, but it's one of my favorite things to do!
My favorite things to cook
I love baking bread!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas, my grandma has all of us grandkids come to her house (there are 13 of us) to spend the night and bake Christmas cookies.
My cooking triumphs
I made a totally from scratch apple pie for the first time and brought it to a church potluck. Everyone raved about it and said it was better than Mrs. Smiths'. :)
My cooking tragedies
Once when I was about 11 years old, I was going to cook grits for breakfast. If you've ever cooked grits, you know that you use very little grits to a lot of water. Well, when I reading the recipe, I got the proportions backwards! I had made four cups of slightly damp grits. Needless to say we were having grits for days. :)
