About this Cook
I am a 26 year old university graduate with some time on my hands to perfect my craft. I have always had a talent in the kitchen and grew up watching my dad cook gourmet meals to wow my parents guests. Now I'm in a relationship with a wonderful man who doesn't cook beyond a sandwich, but is a great help and encourages me to try anything in the kitchen! Plus he always loves everything cause no matter what I make, it's always better than a ham sandwich!
My favorite things to cook
Carribean, French and traditional italian...I also enjoy baking cakes and cookies, but not as much as main dishes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Watching my dad cook, doing the dishes together as a family and the always important 6pm be home or miss dinner and get in big trouble! We also never had tv or music and it was always a good time for us to catch up on everyone's day!
My cooking triumphs
Mike's birthday last week...Made lamb chops with balsamic reduction, sesame asparagus, and twice baked potates, followed by a wonderful oreo cookie cheesecake. The compliments were almost as rewarding as the taste and look of this restaurant caliber meal!
My cooking tragedies
Stupid thai food i made yesterday ughh.... had to throw it out...

Oven Baked Jambalaya
I love this recipe sooo good! When I have weekend guests I make a ham roast the first night, then throw all the ingredients for this recipe into the roasting pan and stuff it in the fridge for an easy dinner the second night!

Ceviche Self-Portrait
This is always a hit at parties! All my friends request it for dinner! I like to have it with tortilla chips and a taco soup recipe I got from this site!

California-Thai Flank Steak
I thought this marinade was not as smooth as I'd like...I think there were too many conflicting flavours for my liking...or I just don't know my thai herbs well enough...
