Lentils and Rice with Fried Onions (Mujadarrah)

I would give this 10 stars if I could!! I made as written, but while the lentils were cooking I seasoned them with a little turmeric & crushed red chilies. I also added a small amount of soya sauce when I added the rice. Served with plain yoghurt. It was delicous and smelt good while simmering. I had the leftovers today warmed up in a soft tortilla wrap.

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

This is a very good mushroom soup. The golden colour in the photo was sort of turning me off since I am used to a paler mushroom soup, but please try this recipe and you won't be let down. I made it exactly as written except forgot to add the lemon juice (didn't miss it) and I served it topped with huge crunchy garlic croutons. Yum!

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Very good. I made these the first time for a 10th anniversary BBQ. They were a huge hit. They smell great while cooking and I was pleasantly surprised that the white meat didn't dry out at all, was very tender. Great recipe for adults and kids alike. Marinated for 6 hours, and got multiple requests for the recipe. Will make again.

Simple Garlic and Basil Pesto

Thank you for a super pesto recipe that doesn't have 2 dozen ingredients like the rest on this website. If you are looking for a very tasty & easy recipe, this is it. I followed the other reviewer's suggestion to freeze leftover portions in an ice cube tray. Left out the brazil nuts and I highly recommend toasting the pine nuts before adding them.

Very simple and refreshing recipe. I made it as a side for homemade falafel & pork souvlaki. We like our food spicy so this was perfect! Made exactly as written except used sea salt. Will definitely make again.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Very easy fool proof cooking. I use a meat thermometer for perfect results every time. Lift up the skin on the breast & thighs & rub seasoning directing onto meat. Instead of just using salt & pepper and onion powder...I add a little cayenne pepper, Old Bay & dried thyme. I also insert dabs of butter under the skin.

Italian Wedding Soup I

Absolutely delicious with some necessary modifications...The meatballs are way too bland as written. Increased the parmesan cheese (used fresh & grated myself) to 3 heaping tablespoons. Added crushed red chilies (1/2 tsp), minced 2 garlic cloves and 1 heaping tblsp fresh parsley minced. Followed other reviewer's suggestion to substitute one cup of the chicken broth to beef. Julienned the carrot very thin instead of shredding. Garnish with extra parm cheese and freshly ground pepper.

Buttermilk Cinnamon Rolls

Not bad for a quick recipe. Cooking time was waaay too long. 10 minutes max or they will be very brown and crunchy. We like chewy cinnamon buns. I did make icing for the top, really seemed too dry without. Will stick with 'clone of a cinnabon' recipe from this site. Thanks anyway.

Potato Pancakes I

This was perfect! Thank you! I served with applesauce, and next time I make will serve with sour cream and fresh chives. Yum. Cut down on the oil, by the way, you can get by on way less. I use Pam oil spray & they turned out terrific.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

I finally made this and it did turn out really great. Tasted restaurant quality. Added extra cayenne pepper to flour mixture & Frank's Red Hot to sauce (we like it spicier). Good recipe, next time will add more flour to wings so the batter is a little thicker. Don't leave out the refridgerator step, makes the flour sticky and is essential for a crispy finish. I served these with homemade blue cheese dip & carrot/celery sticks. With a few adjustments, is a great recipe. Will make again.

Meatloaf with Fried Onions and Ranch Seasoning

WOW! I have been making the "FireFighters Meatloaf" off this site for awhile and thought that it was the best...but this IS the best meatloaf recipe. I left out the ranch dressing and brown sugar (since that is not our taste) followed the rest of the recipe and added worchestershire sauce, tabasco, fresh ground pepper & old bay. Turned out delicious and moist, but dense enough to easily slice up for meatloaf sandwiches the next day. Thanks for such a great easy recipe.

Easiest Focaccia Recipe

This was super easy! I quickly whipped it up when I had unexpected guests arrive to an Italian food night. Followed the recipe exactly when making the dough and turned it into more of a bruschetta bread using fresh chopped tomatoes & basil. More filling that way, and everyone gave it two thumbs up. Will definitely make again.
