About this Cook
I've been married for a little over three years, My husband is in the Navy and we move alot so I've picked up alot of recipes from all over the country. My hubby and son love Italian food so I tend to look for new and unusual italian food recipes. I grew up on southern(my Dad) and northern food(my Mom) so I love experimenting to see what I can mix and match.
My favorite things to cook
I like cooking desserts alot. I love rich creamy comfort foods on cloudy days and making light crisp refreshing foods on bright and clear days . I don't really have a preference on what type of meats I cook as long as I have a basic knowledge of how to cook it I'll add my own touch.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Now that my son is getting older we usually have family over for holidays, and I try to pick at least on thing that he can help with. Then with a little help from the family we start with all the cooking. Ham for easter , My husband fries turkey for thanksgiving and always green bean casserole and my apple crump top pie made from scratch for dessert. We usually have some of the guys of my husbands boat who are alone for holidays over. It's definately good times.
My cooking triumphs
Apple crumb pie , Chicken stews and pot pies. Fajitas, Taco ring , casseroles, and more I can't think of at the moment
My cooking tragedies
I haven't had to throw anything away yet.( knock on wood.)

Camper's Breakfast Hash
We didn't care to much for this. The hash browns were mush and the dish was kindof bland . It looked a lot worse than it tasted but it didn't taste great either.

Easy Cream Cheese Danish
This was wonderful,I made half of what it called for and ate a ton. So very rich but in a good way. The lemon gives just enough flavor to balance the the sugar and creaminess.
