Clone of a Cinnabon

Better than cinnabon! I rolled both halves towards the middle to make heart shaped rolls for Valentines Day. A lot of work, but so worth it!

Cake Balls

I'm not a big fan of these. The pics looked great, so I thought I'd try it. I made two batches -- funfetti cake with strawberry frosting and vanilla bark. Those were way too sweet, I threw most of the cake away before frosting them. The second batch was devils food cake mix with cream cheese frosting and chocolate bark. These are very good, taste almost like donut holes. But, by the time I got to them, I was so tired of making them. While the latter batch tasted good, it wasn't worth the amount of time put into them.

Wendy's Quick Pasta and Lentils

Mmmm! I had to rate this as soon as we were done with dinner. I used Progresso soup (couldn't find Amy's organic), fresh spinach, 3/4 box of ditalini pasta. I used 1-15 oz can of crushed tomatoes and 1 can of diced tomatoes, and added a dash of red wine vinegar. I can't get over how good this was, and so easy! I made it with parmesan chicken, but the pasta was filling in of itself. And it made a lot! Next time I'll cut the recipe in half, since I'm not sure how this will freeze. Thanks for a great recipe!

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

This is now one of my favorite recipes. The flavor is just great! I used Franks hot sauce. When I chopped the green pepper, onion and garlic in my food processor, it get very runny, so I squeezed it out before adding to the beans. Mmmm!

Brown Rice Lentil Salad

I used chicken broth since I didn't have bullion. Great recipe! I'm not a huge fan of lentils, so first bite I wasn't sure if I liked this. But it's so good for you, it was like my body craved it! This will become a frequent addition to our meals.

Pizza On The Grill I

I think my dough was too sticky, because it was so hard to get it on the grill, and when it did, it folded onto itself and started sliding between the rack. Since it started sliding between the rack, it was hard to pry off to flip. By the time I pried it off, it was black, and half of it fell on the ground or in the grill. So sad!

Slow Cooker Lentil and Ham Soup

I improvised, but it was still excellent. I used a small can of tomato paste instead of sauce. I also added a hambone in addition to the diced ham. Used a little more water. Very salty, but good. I threw in a potato just to draw out some of the saltiness (thanks for the tip, Mom!) and it was even better when my husband got home from work.

Grandma's Sour Cream Pound Cake

Mmmm! Wonderful! I'm not a great baker, but this turned out perfect. Instead of mace, I used 1 tbsp vanilla. And I beat the sugar, butter and eggs a lot. Crispy on the outside, moist and wonderful on the inside.

Real Italian Calzones

I've never made the dough. I usually thaw frozen bread dough and divide it. Great filling, overall wonderful dinner. Be careful not to overfill the calzones, since the filling will spill out and may burn.

Rhubarb Cheesecake

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

This is my favorite soup! Instead of heavy cream I use milk with about 3 tbsp cornstarch. And instead of spinach, I use kale. This soup freezes great, too! Wonderful!

Italian Biscotti

Yummy! Love these with coffee! They're pretty easy to make. I don't usually include almonds since I don't have them around. Make sure the cookies are pretty hard/dry. The softer the cookie, the less they'll absorb liquid (coffee, tea).
