I have been married for 6 years an we have a precious baby boy. I'm doing my best to juggle being a working wife, home-maker and mother. I have a degree in nutrition so I love providing healthy, great tasting meals for my family and friends.
My favorite things to cook
I come from a Cajun family so I love to make crawfish etouffee and shrimp creole.
Mostly I like to make new things. I get bored eating the same foods every week so we like to try new foods often.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Whenever we had something big going on at school (a big test or event), my mom would wake up early and make us our favorite breakfast. Mine was french toast, but not anyone's french toast...only my mom's. There is nothing like it.
My cooking triumphs
My husband is very appreciative of whatever I make because if left to him we would starve. I feel like I have lots of triumphs because every night he tells me how great dinner was. I'm a lucky woman. There is nothing better than cooking for someone who loves everything you make.
My cooking tragedies
As newlyweds we had very little money but I wanted to make a special dinner one night. I had never made crabcakes and always loved them. When I saw the price of lump crabmeat in the store I decided I would use imitation crabmeat. BAD IDEA! It was the worse thing I have ever made. My husband will admit now that it tasted pretty bad but that didn't stop him from eating two entire crabcakes.
