School Lunchroom Cafeteria Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
Yep these are the ones!! Although I do agree with othere reviews that this recipe could use a tad more salt. I feel that is a personal preference and does not take away from the ease of making these delicious rolls. I was looking for a recipe for dinner rolls for Thanksgiving and I think I have found it! Makes plenty and they turn out beautiful. Scaled recipe down to 15 servings and they turned out great! Thanks for sharing and bringing back so many great memories!

I just made these this morning and they are great! The dough had just the right amount of elasticity and was so easy to work with. I used warm water and they puffed up really nicely. Will be using this recipe again. Thanks for sharing!

Frosted Orange Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
I stumbled upon this recipe while looking for a frosting recipe. And since I was making orange frosting, I thought why not give these a try too. These are so yummy! A great change from a traditional sugar cookie, they taste so fresh and are great with tea. which is how I am having right now. As per other reviews, I did add in an egg and about 1/2 cup more flour and they are perfect. Dough will be a bit wet, but I used a cookie scoop and they did not spread too much, in fact mine looked just like the picture! Try these you will enjoy. A delicious cookie! Thanks for sharing!

Best Ever Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2009
I made these for Halloween to share with my family. They are delicious!! I did add in the vanilla and threw in a couple of handfuls of peanuts. My niece and I will be making them for the Christmas bake sale at church. We will be adding dried cranberries and M&M's to make them look like ornaments. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!!

Fresh Peach Pie I

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2009
I made this pie for our July 4th celebration and after reading reviews opted to omit the water in the recipe only because the peaches I was using were so juicy. I also added 1 cup of fresh raspberries and gently tossed peaches with glaze and let it set overnight in a bowl. I placed filling into pie crust just before serving, added fresh whipped cream to top it off and it was a huge hit! Thanks for the recipe, I was looking for glaze that did not call for gelatin.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
These are fantastic pancakes!! Made them this weekend for my son and Mom and they both loved them. I followed recipe as written, but did need to add a tiny bit more milk as batter was too thick and 1 tsp vanilla. Served with fresh strawberries and maple syrup, comfort food at its best! Thanks for the recipe, no more box mix for us!!

Bread Machine Pizza Dough

This makes a great crust!! I have made this twice, once and written and it was really good. The second time I added some italian seasoning and garlic powder and that was great too. both time I did increase the flour by 1/4 cup, otherwise it could be too sticky. Thanks for sharing such a versitile recipe!!

Easy Pizza Sauce I

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
Very tasty sauce and so simple to make. I took the advice of previous reviewer and cut the water to 1 cup and the olive oil to 3 tablespoons and it was so flavorful and the perfect consistancy. This sauce definately does need to sit for a few hours to get the full flavor, so make it the night before and it will be great!! Thanks for the great sauce!!

Churros

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
These taste great!! and so simple to make. Only change I made was to add 1 tsp of vanilla. I made 3 batches last night...my son and nephew kept eating them up. The largest star tip I have was still making them pencil thin, so I just rolled mine into long strips and shaped into doughnuts, worked out great! Thanks for sharing...now my family can enjoy anytime!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
First off I have to say that I have never had much success in the bread making department, I can bake anything else except bread. I definately lacked in my kneading skills. I just got a new bread machine as a gift and decided to try this recipe to give it a whirl, the result was amazing!! The most beautiful, moist and delicious rolls we have ever had. I made mine in the old cloverleaf shape and I will definately be making these again, in fact my son says no more store bought rolls for us! I tend to agree. Thanks for the recipe, perfect as written!!

Orange Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
This is definately a great recipe!! I was looking for a definate orange flavor cake and I have made the recipe as posted and I feel that is more of a "citrus" flavor with the combination of the lemon and orange. I have also made it as some reviewers have suggested and changed the yellow cake mix for french vanilla, the pudding to vanilla and used orange zest and orange extract and the result was so fresh and wonderfully delish! Thanks for posting this great recipe.

Peach Pie the Old Fashioned Two Crust Way

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2008
This is a very easy, old fashioned tasting peach pie. Definately need to use fresh peaches! Do not need to do a thing...although, we all seem to tweak the recipes a bit to suit tastes and make them our own. In my case I added a 1/4 tsp. of ground ginger, cut the lemon juice to 1 tblsp. and added 1 tsp. of vanilla extract, and cut the sugar to 1/2 cup, using 1/4 cup of dark brown sugar and 1/4 cup of white sugar. Came out perfect, juicy, but not soupy by any means. Thanks for the recipe!!

Banana Bread I

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2008
Just made this last night along with a batch of the Banana crumb Muffins from this site, I had a lot of over ripe bananas that I did not want to through out. This is a great basic recipe, I did make some changes as suggested by other reviewers, I added 1 tsp of baking powder, 1 tsp. Vanilla, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 cup of nuts and 1/3 cup of chocolate chips and lastly I reduced the sugar to 3/4 cup. I also sprinkled the top with more chopped nuts just before I put in the oven. The result a very beautiful moist banana bread with just the right hint of chocolate. Great with coffee this morning!!

I will be making another one tonight, my first one was gone in no time. Thanks Brian for sharing such a wonderful recipe. Your Grandfather's cake lives on!!
