About this Cook
I grew up in a cooking family, my Mother and Grandmother were both awesome cooks. My Grandma always told me that you have to always cook with love in your heart, otherwise nothing you make will taste good. I always try and remember that. I like to cook, but baking and desserts are my passion. I love to try new receipes and this site is perfect for that.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make dinner during the holidays. I prepare and cook Thanksgiving through New Years dinner every year for my entire family. I also love to bake cookies, cakes and pies. I love the way my house smells when I bake.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking for my family during the holidays. All from scratch including desserts!
My cooking triumphs
Learning to make pasta sauce from scratch from a very dear friend of mine and finally mastering making flan.
My cooking tragedies
Flan - I cannot tell you how many receipes and eggs I went through until I found the perfect recipe that worked for me, and I found it on this site!!

School Lunchroom Cafeteria Rolls
Yep these are the ones!! Although I do agree with othere reviews that this recipe could use a tad more salt. I feel that is a personal preference and does not take away from the ease of making these delicious rolls. I was looking for a recipe for dinner rolls for Thanksgiving and I think I have found it! Makes plenty and they turn out beautiful. Scaled recipe down to 15 servings and they turned out great! Thanks for sharing and bringing back so many great memories!

Homemade Flour Tortillas
I just made these this morning and they are great! The dough had just the right amount of elasticity and was so easy to work with. I used warm water and they puffed up really nicely. Will be using this recipe again. Thanks for sharing!

Frosted Orange Cookies
I stumbled upon this recipe while looking for a frosting recipe. And since I was making orange frosting, I thought why not give these a try too. These are so yummy! A great change from a traditional sugar cookie, they taste so fresh and are great with tea. which is how I am having right now. As per other reviews, I did add in an egg and about 1/2 cup more flour and they are perfect. Dough will be a bit wet, but I used a cookie scoop and they did not spread too much, in fact mine looked just like the picture! Try these you will enjoy. A delicious cookie! Thanks for sharing!
