Oh yes. OH YES!!!! I've been craving Chinese take-out for a few weeks now, but I hate the fat/sodium content of it.. not to mention the price (at least $30 for the 3 of us!!) This is delicious. Totally hit the spot. Used 3 T. whole wheat flour and 1 T. cornstarch in the batter. Also, ended up marinating the chicken for more like an hour, although I'm not sure the soy sauce/sesame oil/sherry makes much of a difference in the batter. Next time I'll probably just use a soy sauce/water mixture instead to cut costs even more.. not that this is expensive! Fried in peanut oil. If your oil is the right temp (365-370), your food absorbs very little oil. I used Splenda in the sauce, and cut back by a couple of teaspoons. Also, I upped the vinegar a bit. I used Sriracha for the chile paste, and next time I'll probably use 1 1/2-2 t. because my guys like hot food. Served this w/brown rice (Alton Brown's baked brown rice recipe.. try it!) and the Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews from this site. Wonderful!!!!!!
