About this Cook
I'm a registered nurse part time but also run a pet-sitting business with my husband.
My favorite things to cook
anything that tastes good and sparks my interest. I love to cook for guests and have them ask for seconds.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'm from a Slovenian family..my mother was a great cook. Some of her best recipes that I can make are goulash and concorde grape pie.
My cooking triumphs
Concorde grape pie! It was so hard the first time I made it, but everyone loves it and it tastes just like my mom's.
My cooking tragedies
Usually involve baking...I'm pretty good but not the best. The times I've tried to make cakes from scratch didn't turn out so well so I gave up.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast
I bought a smaller turkey breast ..found this and decided to give it a go because of the simplicity and good reviews. I was surprised at how good it was! I just adjusted my cooking time down because I only had a 3 lb. breast..easy. This was delicious AND moist.

Campbell's Jambalaya
Well...I really wanted to like this but the problem has to be the cooking time. The TASTE is great but the consistency is mush. The recipe "as is" definitely needs adjusted..and even with that (I did reduce the cooking time), it still came out with the mushy rice. I'm not sure if I"ll try this one againl I'm still looking for the "one" jambalaya recipe!

Cream of Broccoli Soup V
Good but not the best..I liked it but not enough to make it again. I don't think mozzarella cheese is quite right for my idea of cream of broccoli soup but it might be for other people.
