Dave's Mocha Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
This chicken is the best meal I have had in a while! My boyfriend loved it too! Pops with flavor and the house fills with great aroma while cooking! I added some garlic powder and a teaspoon of cocoa and used white wine in place of sherry. So GOOD!! I served with rice and brocolli and drizzeled sauce over all. I will try this with wings sometime soon! Thanks Dave!

Spicy Beef Vegetable Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
I love to make slow cooker soups and this one is a keeper. I change a few things. I used 2 lbs. of burger, I added a can of beef broth, cut way back on the water (1 can), added and pack of dry brown gravey mix and a 1/2 cup of barley. This is very good and so nice to come home to after work. The house smelled great! Thanks!

Cranberry-Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
This is a keeper!! These are so good! I used dried cranberries but will be trying fresh ones next time. Do not omit the orange zest! These flavors mingle well. I am serving these tonight at my OES meeting along with Pumpkin Fluff Dip from this site. Also cinnamon graham crackers. This will be my new Holiday favorite goodies!

Apple Gingerbread Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
This is the perfect cake to bake on a Fall weekend! I must have apples in something once Fall arrives. Very moist. I put creamed cheese icing on top instead of nuts. I liked the small cake and it was eaten quickly. Thats a good sign!

Peanut Butter Cocoa No-Bake Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
We love these! I did use the advise of others and used half white sugar and half brown sugar. I also added white chocolate chips that I had on hand. My boyfiend's daughter helped and we had fun as always. More like candy than a cookie. Went great with fresh strawberries for dessert at our Sunday cookout. I plan on freezing some for a weekend trip.

This was wonderful! So easy and so pretty on the plate! I used swiss cheese and fresh asp. that was the only changes I made. I served it over a bed of angel hair pasta with a little alfredo sauce(from this site) and sauted fresh mushrooms. My boyfriend was impressed and thanked me for making him such a nice supper! WOW! Thanks! I will be making this again and this is company worthy! I just ate leftovers that I nuked at work and its real good warmed up too!

Easy Alfredo Sauce I

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2009
The taste and simplicity of this sauce should be rated 5 stars but it never thickened up for me. I was disapointed but it was still good on our angel hair pasta. Not sure what went wrong.

This is a keeper! Very easy and kid friendly. When finished baking I sprinkled cheese on top and then we put salsa on top when served instead of tomatoes. We had these with baked nachos and served sour cream and salsa on the side. Great Sunday supper! Thanks!

Taco Pie

We loved this and is very kid friendly! I made some changes but this is such a good base recipe and the cressant rolls make a real good crust, I added a layer of warmed refried beans and a layer of salsa. Saved the sour cream for on top when served. Makes great leftovers for lunch at work! This is a keeper and will be made again for sure!

I have made many batches of this in the past few weeks! We all love it! My boy friend's kids help me make it and they will be taking this to school for all thier teachers as a little Christmas treat. We are hosting an appetizer dinner this weekend and everyone will be given a goodie bag with "Reindeer Chow" to take home. Such a good homemade gift that goes a long way.

Tater Tot Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
We loved this! This was part of our make ahead menu for a weekend get-away to the PA mts. Our place has been winterized so no water for dirty dishes. I made this at home along with some crock pot chili.I left the onions off till the last 10 minutes of cooking. It was so good with chili, beleve it or not! Good left-over too! I may try adding browned ground beef and green beans for a one dish meal and doubeling the sauce.

Italian Wedding Soup I

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2008
This was a hit! I made it in the crock-pot so I did have to make a few changes that worked out well. I made the meatballs the night before, doubling everything except the egg. Baked them in a 9x13, uncovered, in a 350 oven for 30-45 minutes in the morning. I also cooked the orzo in the morning. In the crock I put a quart and a small can of chicken broth, with celery, onion and carrots, a box of chopped frozen spinich and oragano, basil, garlic, salt and pepper. This cooked on low all day. When I got home from work I put the orzo in the crock and stired till loose, added the meatballs till warmed. I made this to celebrate my BF's first time voting!! He loved it! We cant wait for leftovers tonight. This is a special soup and is worth a little TLC.

Slow Cooker Pizza

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
I made this as a time saver for supper on Trick or Treat night. I used my older crock pot that is not as hot because it was cooking all day while I was at work. This was good but I did make some changes. I browned ground beef and Italian sausage. I used a large jar of pasta sauce and omitted the pizza sauce and soup. I also sprinkled garlic powder and oragno on each layer. I used a whole pack of pepperoni. Kids loved it. Easy.

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
This is the second time making these and we just love them! I love crock-pot cooking! Some time savers are to separate the cabbage leaves and wash, stack loosely and place in a plastic bag and freeze overnight. The thawing process makes them plyable and no need to boil. Run hot warer over the frozen leaves to speed up thawing. No need to cook the rice if cooking 8 hours in slow cooker. For the sauce I used 2 cans of tomato soup with the lemon juice and brown sugar. I did not have any worchestershire sauce so I used a few shakes of A-1. Made mashed potatoes and apple cobbler and we had a great Sunday dinner. Cant wait for leftovers tonight! Will make this again.
