Very nice bread and with the extra baking soda and I substituted chopped Macadamia nuts for the walnuts, the Hawaii Aunties loved it. Mahalo!

Cindy's Tasty Wings

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
This is an easy and flavorful recipe. To make it spicier, I added 3 Tbls. of Dijon mustard to the preserves and instead of catalina dressing, I used Mae Ploy sauce (found in the Asian dept. of the grocery store). I also baked it at 375 degrees for 45 mins. and then turned it up to 400 degrees for the last 15 minutes. Here in Hawaii, we like it spicey/sweet and hot. Aloha!

Strawberry Cream Roll

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2009
I caution everyone to beat the whipped cream only until combined after adding the gelatin and sugar. The first attempt I made, I beat the mixture too long and the milk separated from the butter making a globby mess. Also, I would suggest using powdered sugar and not granulated sugar for the filling. It comes out lighter. Great jelly roll recipe.

Ginger Snaps II

Taste-wise these were terrific! They definitely need to be cooked for at least 14 mins. though, otherwise they are too soft and don't hold their shape.

Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
Great brittle and very easy! I doubled the recipe and sustituted chopped macadamia nuts instead of the peanuts. Terrific! My candy thermometer was broken so I used the "hair method" described in this recipe and it worked just great! Will definitely make again, especially for the holiday gift giving! Thanks!

Creamy Succotash with Bacon, Thyme and Chives

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
I made this for a gathering, doubled the recipe, and it was gobbled up! I made it ahead by a couple of hours and kept it warm in a 170 degree oven until I had to go. Really good comfort food recipe! I was unable to find the baby lima beans, and used regular size, and it worked fine. I also substituted green onions for the chives. Thanks for the great recipe!

Walnut Chicken Spread

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
This is a good basic recipe. I added 1/2 cup of Miracle Whip and used it for sandwiches. If you do not have Miracle Whip, I suggest you use a tablespoon of sugar to sweeten it up just a bit. Yummy!

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2009
Easy and delicious! I made it a little differently. I added all ingredients into a bowl and with hands mixed them all together. I also added one more egg and 1 tablespoon of worchestershire sauce and used 1 pound of pork and one pound of leand ground beef. I suggest you pour off any hot grease before serving. I also used an 8 X 8 glass dish. Yummy. Thanks allrecipies!

Luscious Lilikoi Chiffon Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2008
This recipe is to die for! I made it with frozen lilikoi concentrate (found in frozen fruit juice section) and it was a great hit after our Thanksgiving meal. I live in Hawaii and have lilikoi growing in my yard, but happened to be on the Mainland when I made this recipe. It was lucious and creamy and I wish I had made two pies. Great recipe...mahalo!

Holiday Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
Great recipe. I did a few variations. I added another 3/4 cup of sugar, 3/4 cup of powdered baking cocoa (as my husband is a lover of chocolate, and 1 cup of chopped and toasted, unsalted Macadamia nuts. I cut the cold butter into slices and worked them into the dry mixture using my Kitchen Aid mixer. Just scrap down the sides a couple of times during the process. Once in the jelly roll pan, I rolled the top even and then rolled the nuts into the dough. Marvelous 5 star recipe. Thanks allrecipies!

Cream Cheese Pound Cake III

I made this for Christmas gifts and used 6 mini loaf pans. After the batter was in the pans, I added 2T of Smucker's blackberry or strawberry "Just Fruit" onto the top and worked it into the batter a bit. I baked them all at one time at 325 degrees F for only 40 mins. My friends loved them!

Rum Cake I

An easy and yummy recipe. I used butter and sugar (instead of flour) to coat pan to prevent sticking. I also used a 5 oz. pudding mix as opposed to a 3.5 oz. pkg. This was a real hit at the birthday party for a friend!
