About this Cook
I am a stay at home mom with my 2 sweet boys. I like to experiment in the kitchen, but the kids come first, so sometimes it's what's quick, easy, and healthy! I really got into cooking and baking when I had my first son over three years ago. I would sit, feed him and watch the food network. I caught all kinds of great tips and tricks. I'd get recipes online and I started to get more confident. I have to say that the best cooks to watch are Alton Brown (every recipe of his I've made has turned out fab) and Paula Deen (she is great for comfort food and desserts...just gotta watch the fat and carb content!!).
My favorite things to cook
I absolutely love making grilled veggies, grilled steak, lasagna, cookies, peanut butter pie, ice cream, cheese cake, tacos, chili, pizza... I also love making salads and coming up with salad dressings (anything with garlic).
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Grandmother makes the ultimate prime rib and is an expert at baking... any recipes I can hit her up for I do!! Other than that, I like turkey on Thanksgiving and prime rib for Christmas (not a huge fan of ham on Easter, but I deal with it)!
My cooking triumphs
Anything low carb that turns out good! My chicken wings and my white clam sauce get rave reviews!
My cooking tragedies
Anything low carb that doesn't turn out good... I have a habit of turning up the stove too high and walking away. I have to really reming myself, I'd rather it be undercooked when coming back into check on it, than overcooked and ruined!

Smooth Sweet Tea
I should give this recipe 10 stars. I gave the recipe to my grandma, who was addicted to Mc D's tea, but now she can just make it at home! I too love making this and its definitely way less bitter! Thanks for a great iced tea!

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Meat Loaf
I thought this was flavorful meatloaf! It reminded me of Bob Evans just slightly. I used Big Al's BBQ Sauce instead of the ketchup/brown sugar topping. Next time I'll try it with a mushroom gravy type sauce instead!

French Bread
Just was I was looking for! I 1/2ed the recipe and made 4 mini loaves. I used 2 to make a half batch of double tomato brushetta, 1 for homemade croutons, and 1 for bread crumbs. thanks!
