About this Cook
I am a self-described foodie. I basically love anything and everything food and beverage. My favorite thing to do these days is to re-learn how to use and cook vegetables now that we have a weekly CSA share (if you don't know what CSA means, definitely be sure to check it out).
My favorite things to cook
Oh gosh. I love baking anything. Baking bread is especially satisfying (and esp. difficult). I love, love, love to make soups (and eat them). And I love using the freshest, local ingredients possible.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Everything from authentic Italian holiday dishes to the "classic" 80's microwavable dinners of my childhood.
My cooking triumphs
My Grandma's 74th Birthday cake; two very successful Thanksgiving dinners (2001 and 2002); my Christmas prime rib dinner last year (2006); my falafel; my vegan corn chowder; my honey lavender ice cream
My cooking tragedies
I lost track of these.

Sean's Falafel and Cucumber Sauce
I've lost track of how many times I have made this dish. I love it! The only part I have changed is that I've increased the bread crumbs by quite a bit (usually around 1/2 to 1 cup more - eyeball it). Even the cucumber sauce is delicious. I can't say it enough - I love this recipe.

Fruited Ice Cream
It was an okay recipe... I think next time I'll use a vanilla-flavored ice cream base and then simply add strawberries (or whatever fruit). Mine wasn't very creamy - In fact, after freezing a batch over night, it was rock-solid with what looked like a lot of ice from so much water. Eggs would probably help that. And it wasn't as fruit-y as I wanted. All and all though it wasn't bad.
