Jambalaya

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
Overall this recipe turned out very delicious. The last time I had jambalaya, it was made by a real cajun, but it didn't have as much tomato taste to it. I increased this recipe because I could only find a 16 oz package of sausage, a 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes, and my chicken was a pound and a half package of chicken tenderloins. So I increased the other ingredients similarly. I ended up using 3 cups of Jasmine rice with 4 1/2 cups of chicken broth. The real test is yet to be taken... How will my husband like it?

Chicken Pot Pie II

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
If you're looking for an all-American traditional chicken pot pie, this is the one. It was very easy and tasty. I would only recommend that a pan be placed underneath to catch drippings. Perfect!

Easy Chili I

Great, easy chili recipe. I used a can of rotel in the place of the peppers and one 8 oz. can of tomato sauce. It is yummy! Thanks!

Simple Time Pork Chops

This was a tasty dish! It was nice to find something out of the ordinary to do with a pork chop! It was easy to increase the amount, and was overall a "simple" recipe!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2008
Yummy!! I followed the suggestions of other reviewers and used 1 c. butter. I wished I'd either stuck to the recipe or used UNsalted butter. Other than that, these are the best peanut butter cookies I've ever eaten!!

Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2008
This recipe was very good. I have a huge family, so I increased the amount of beans and tomatoes. I wasn't so sure about the tomatoes in it, but they gave it kick. I will definitely use this one again!!

Pecan Pie IV

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2007
I also had to use deep dish crusts, but the pies were not done even in 60 minutes. I had to leave them in for a lot longer, then the crust around the edge was overdone. Not sure how to get around that... The recipe was easy enough for a 15 year old to do it almost completely on her own, though! By the way, I read in another review that they put the pecans on top. If you just add the pecans, they rise to the top on their own.

Sugar Cookies XI

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2007
I was hoping that all of the work that I had to do to make these cookies would be worth it in taste, but I'm sad to I was not. The dough was very sticky and impossible to roll out and cut. The finished product was dry and bland. It was more like a bad biscuit than a cookie. Too bad I wasted 7 cups flour on these!

Cathy's Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2007
Well, Cathy, you did well whoever you are!! This was my first time to bake banana bread, and I am SO glad that I found this one. My husband loves sour cream and bananas, so this was a great match. I took other reviewers advice and used 1/3 cup brown sugar in place of the white sugar, added 1/2 cup walnuts, and baked it in a bundt pan. It turned out beautifully...and delicious!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2006
This recipe was great!! I took the tip from others to reduce the amount of salt to 1/2 tsp. I also reduced the amount of oatmeal to 2 cups instead of three. I used dark brown sugar, peanut butter chips, and peanuts...so it really makes them peanut butter cookies, but they were SO great!! It'll be my recipe for oatmeal anykind of chip cookie!! Thanks for the recipe!!
