About this Cook
I am mother to three---two boys, our pre-teen on the verge of being 45, our 7 year old who was diagnosed within the spectrum of autisism last year, and our sweet baby girl who will be 2 in September.
My favorite things to cook
I am very busy working two jobs so I don't have much time to cook like I used to. Occasionally I will get the cooking bug as I call it, but not like I used to. My favorite thing to cook these day is probably something quick and easy! I am all about lunchables, caprisuns, and pre-made cookie dough!
My favorite family cooking traditions
These days the traditions are saved for the holidays. I have really embraced my husband's family's traiditons at Thanksgiving and Christmas...let's see, there are his grandmother's deviled eggs (no one can make them like she did), my MIL's stuffing (the only way I will eat celery), and I make a pecan pie for my FIL. Also, my MIL has to make her signiture lemon and chocolate pies. One of my family's pies, my cherry pie, has made it into their hearts and they ask for it every holiday. I made the mistake of giving out my recipe and now everyone is making it! Also, they ask for my dinner rolls at every family function.
My cooking triumphs
Nothing recently, though I conquered bagel making and my oldest son won't eat store bought bagels without saying he won't eat them, that mine are better! When he says that I am such the proud Momma~! I make them for him every once in awhile as a treat but they are time comsuming (shaping and boiling and flipping) so I don't attempt that often.
My cooking tragedies
My dearest, oldest friend since Jr. high school passed away from cancer. She was my cooking buddy, we discussed recipes and life in general via email and FB and I miss her so much. Perhaps that is why I have lost the cooking interest.

Peppy's Pita Bread
Used the ingredients (changed to 2 cups whole wheat, 1 cup reg. flour) list but changed the method. Made the dough as suggested in my bread maker, then used a dumpling press to make my pita shapes. Baked on a baking stone @ 400 for about 17 minutes. Very good. Thanks for the recipe.

Raspberry Cream Muffins
These were 'ok'. I got some raspberries on sale and didn't know what to do with them. They didn't get eaten at our house ):

CB's Black Eyed Peas
Used the cooking method only with this recipe, combined with Tam's recipe on here. Happy New Year and thanks CB! I cooked longer, overnight in the crockpot. Put peas in about 9pm and they were done this morning.
