Campbell's® Slow Cooker Savory Pot Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
this was ok, a nice basic but they left out the important part of browning the meat prior to putting it in. that's the only thing i can figure out as to why this turned out so darn dry. ive had better.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
Use real parm, not the cheapy kraft in a shaker! Makes a huge difference. Also subb'd the onion powder for 1 clove minced garlic, used concentrate lemon juice(I never have real ones on hand) and used celery seed instead of salt since I didn't have that, either. After putting the mix on the fish I dusted the tops with bread crumbs. Absolutely delicious.

Stuffed Peppers My Way

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
Just a good basic recipe you can do anything with really. The peppers I got weren't probably the right size to stuff(they ended up flattening out while being roasted) so next time I'll either just hollow them out and keep them whole or cut them up and mix them together with the rice mixture after roasting! Fresh mozzarella melted on top is excellent, too!

Honey-Ginger Grilled Salmon

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
I liked the marinade a lot but the suggested time I don't think is long enough. This should really be let to soak overnight in my opinion. I didn't think the fish retained much of the flavor after being cooked. Will make again and give it the time it needs!

Easy Pork Roast

This was a hit with the fam. My mom even dropped by unexpectedly and ended up eating with us- loved it! The meat wasn't dry at all and really loved the beans with it. Didn't have any rosemary and will add a little of that next time. Definitely will be making again!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2009
This was really good and easy. I did cut the sugar down due to other reviewers and it still had a nicely sweet taste. I used mostly allpurpose flour as that's all I had. I am not a fan of really dense breads but store is so much air, this is a nice inbetween. Will be making more!

I dont know if I did something wrong, but this was totally bland. Note to self, don't try something new for dinner when you're having guests over!

Mustard Crusted Tilapia

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2008
I just had reg mustard, doubled most of everything, used a sandwich sprinkle mix from Penzey's due to having no straight garlic poweder. Also added honey. Put a couple pats of butter in the bottom of the dish and then after it was done cooking broiled for 5min as suggested. I hate fish and this was delicious!

Apple Pie I

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2008
My first attempt was fairly decent (according to my dad!) I used a store bought crust mix. The filling was really good- the only thing I didn't like was how crunchy my apples were after all was said and done. I like a soft apple filling. Bet it had something to do with the type of apples used, don't know what kind they are exactly but they were from our neighbors' tree. We'll be trying this again and researching how to get those apples soft!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2008
Needs more veggies! I'd do twice the potatoes and onion if you have the room! Otherwise that's about all I can say- I used baby carrots and didn't have onion mix nor beef stock so I improvised with a beef stock vegetable soup I had. Also tried marinating it in red wine over nite. The meat truly fell off the bone. Next time we'll throw in some garlic and I think I'll skip the red wine.

Phyl's Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2008
Taste wise it's pretty good, ours is fairly hot after one day. The consistency reminds me of a Pace picante sauce I think, I tend to like my salsas a little more chunky/fresh. Next time we won't drain the tomatoes and may do even more fresh tomatoes to see if that doesn't come to a middle ground. Might even remove the tomatoe sauce all together from the recipe. It was easy to make, the longest part was just waiting for it to simmer down.

Grilled Teriyaki Tuna

This was truly wonderful- I dislike fish and there was no fish taste at all to it, more like reg meat. One thing I will do next time is not cook it as long.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
My girls loved this- we've had it for breakfast, snacks and lunch! (they are 16mos-3yrs) I did one loaf in a small pan and another in a regular pan- the reg was too big and when I thought it was done it ended up being too doughy in the center. This is otherwise very easy to make and tastes delicious!

Naan

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
I didn't give it 5 stars just because I think it's a little difficult to make- It was hard to get the dough rolled out thin enough then into the skillet, then trying to get it to brown without burning. I had the stove down to low/med. Forgot to add the baking soda but the lid trick did help in creating bubbles on one side. My girls loved it and it went great with the Fragrant Chicken Curry II. Maybe practice will make perfect?!

Fragrant Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
This was so delicious- I cheated with a rotis chicken and made some Indian fry bread to go with it- just wonderful. My husband was so impressed! 'Who needs an Indian restaurant when I have you!' Definitely a great one for a cool fall day or cold winter evening. It is pleasantly spicey but not in a hot way, more warming. Even my girls (16mos-3yrs) ate it. Makes a nice big batch for leftovers, too.

Salmon with Pecan Honey Glaze

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
I HATE fish but know I need to eat it and want to set a good example for my kids. This is a great recipe for people in the same boat. The honey really takes the fish taste out of it. I actually finished my ENTIRE piece before my fish loving husband!
