About this Cook
I am a working mom, I love to cook and try new things. I hate monotony (regarding food and other aspects in life too). My goal is to learn how to prepare healthy, tasty and effortless meals for everyday.
My favorite things to cook
Risotto, Lasagna, Venezuelan food, cakes, cookies and desserts (though the oven I have now is unreliable and can't make things work sometimes).
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cookies for christmas, never the same, have to try new varieties every year, plus the favorites from last year. Stuffed turkey for new year's eve and Hallacas for Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to make chinese food at home, like eggrolls from scratch.
My cooking tragedies
Having an electric stove/oven is definitively a tragedy in itself. Tried making a brownie cake with butterscotch topping and marshmallow frosting once and it was for the first time a big flop! (had a gas oven before)

Easy Peach Cobbler
Made it as per instructions. It took much longer time to set. After 30 minutes in the oven at 350 degrees F (as the recipe indicates), it wasn't brown or set. I raised the temperature to 400 and left it 15 min more and it browned but it was completely runny. I lowered the temperature again and left it for about 30-40 mins more, until my knife came out clean. So in total it was about 1 ½ hours in the oven. It came out alright, but a little bland, I think the other reviewer's advise of adding some vanilla would have made the cobbler better.
