About this Cook
I'm 34 and live in the Finger Lake Region of New York with my boyfriend (who is 37) and his two children (part-time). They are 14 and 4. I go to school full-time, so most of my time is devoted to homework and running the house!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook pasta and rice dishes the most. I also enjoy trying new dishes that I think everyone will enjoy!
My favorite family cooking traditions
One of my favorite traditions is baking my great-grandmother's chocolate freezer cake! It was always on hand (wrapped in foil in her freezer) and we would do something to get yelled at by Grandpa so Gram would yell at him and give us cake! lol I also love to make a new dish each Thanksgiving to keep it exciting!
My cooking triumphs
Mastering the chocolate freezer cake! My great-grandmother never used a recipe, so the one that was written down was not the correct one. It took a few years and many, many mistakes (not that anyone complained lol) to get it just right! To this day, I am the only one with the correct recipe. If my family asks for it, I give them what I started with!!
My cooking tragedies
The only one I can think of is when I made steak for my friends. I thought that once they turned brown, they were done! lol Yep... I love rare, but they were not edible!!

Easy Alfredo Sauce I
This was an easy recipe! It was a bit too thick, so next time I will decrease the cheese. Other than that, it tasted great!

Chicken Lasagna II
This is a great recipe! I used some ricotta, substituted the evaporated milk with a bit of 2% milk, and added more veggies! Everyone loved it!!

Cubed Steak and Wild Rice
This was very good. Next time I am going to decrease the Worsteshire sauce as it was a bit to spicy.
