About this Cook
I am a college student and a young wife. My husband is a diabetic and doesn't take very good care of himself, so I have to make sure he eats well! I like recipes that reheat well. We both work in an office during the day and it's so much easier if we have leftovers we can just reheat for lunch.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts. They're awesome. And I love cooking large dishes that I can toss in the fridge and reheat for lunch; especially since I work a lot and don't like spending money for lunch everyday!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Not many. My mom makes a great shepherd's pie, and my dad makes a wonderful quiche with a graham cracker crust. But almost everything I learned about cooking I had to teach myself.
My cooking triumphs
Pear-Almond Tart.
My cooking tragedies
A japanese cheesecake recipe I tried. Japanese cheesecake is supposed to be lighter and spongier than european cheesecake. Well I followed this recipe I had to the T, and when I tried it, it was horrible! It had way too much lemon juice, not nearly enough sugar, and probably needed another 10 or 15 minutes in the oven! Even my husband agreed it wasn't very good, and he'll eat anything! So I'm definitely going to revise that one before trying it again!

Easy Paella
I left out the shrimp because I'm not a big seafood person, but this was delicious! There was a ton of leftovers cause I made so much, and it was very easy to reheat for lunch the next day.

delicious! Very moist, easy to make. Batter was so silky and smooth. It baked up beautifully. Very good with raspberry frosting.
