About this Cook
Im a mid 40's woman...newly married to the greatest guy in the world...mother of three brilliant children. I've worked for Weight Watchers for almost 15 years. It keeps me in line....because I LOVE food. I love cooking it as much as I love tasting it. Love a new challenge and don't mind tweaking things with what I might have around the house. Frugal at times....extravagant at others. Washington state resident for the last 30 years(near Seattle). Spent early childhood years in CA & FL. Dad was an engineer for Boeings space program...so we moved around a lot. Dad was into scuba diving and loved to bring in fresh fish/shellfish. Mom loved to cook and gave me so many of my skills. My husband is the baker in the family (best cookies...mmmm).
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family cameto America from Norway in the 1860's. Landed in Wisconsin, then traveled across the plains(free land if you farmed it)... my family is from the Dakotas. Small town traditions of potato salad and jello salads(men eat first).
My cooking triumphs
Peking duck....but, it didn't seem worth it in the end.

Summerly Squash
This was a simple and delicious recipe. It was a nice change of pace from my typical summer squash parmesan thing I usually do. Healthy side dish! Thanks for sharing!

The Best Meatballs
This recipe made for some FANTASTIC meatballs! Deliciousioso! I was a little hesitant to try this....I've been used to making meatballs the same way for ages. I've always started by soaking bread in liquids and seasonings first then adding meat....baking them in the oven or frying them in a skillet (relying on the fat from the ground beef only. I NEVER fried my meatballs in an inch of oil! Frying them gave them a great and wonderful exterior and such a moist interior. Make them! Couldn't find veal today....so went without.
