I'm 16 years old and live in Virginia. I enjoy being outside and most activites in the great outdoors! I enjoy food and also love the feeling of accomplishment brought about by single-handedly making a dish!!
My favorite things to cook
I like to find exotic recipes from differant countries and cultures. Sometimes finding the ingredients can be difficult, but I really love the variety and dilicious taste that ethnic food brings to the table.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Well my family doesn't have very many interesting cooking traditions, but I always love the pecan pie at Thanksgiving! And we always go to a fall festival at a nearby college, where we buy apple cider-that's great when heated up!
My cooking triumphs
For french class we had a French Food Day, more like French Dessert Day. I chose to make Bouche de Noel, a yule log cake. It turned out very sweet and quite good-looking as well!
My cooking tragedies
Well our world history class also had International Food Day, and I choose to be alittle more frivolous and tried to make-"fried grapefruit", from Australlia. It turns out grapefruits should be "fried" and eaten within the same half hour-not the next day! But the cherry on top was tasty!
