About this Cook
Simple and scrumptous is my cooking style. I love to cook just about anything, give me a recipe and I'll try it. I don't think food has to be complicated to make to be good and like to stay as close to natural as possible.
My favorite things to cook
Breakfast foods are easy and so variable. I enjoy baking sweets, especially for holidays or special occasions. I love to try new things and am really starting to branch out as I spend more time in the kitchen.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am trying to capture and establish new traditions. Being new in the kitchen and being seperated from a big part of my family, it's hard to identify my family traditions. I'm working on it though.
My cooking triumphs
Every succesful meal that makes it to the table. I love to see my families faces after a satisfying meal... or at least their cleaned plates! I love the morning rush when everyone is trying to get out the door and I feel like a short order cook. I can have an omelet or breakfast burrito on a plate in under 5 min. :)
My cooking tragedies
A Christmas day Apple Pie with a very brown crust and a very watery filling. The only one who ate it was my dad, and I think that was out of pity.

Best Whole Wheat Chocolate Chippers
Deeelicious! The whole wheat flour gave these cookies a great nutty flavor. I used almonds and ground them in a food processor so that they were very finely chopped. Also, I didn't have enough butter so I used 1/2 margarine. Still turned out yummy. I topped them with a cinnomen/sugar mix before baking. Family loved them and I love that they are made with whole wheat flour. These were fabulous cookies!

Excellent! I made this last Christmas for my family and everyone loved it. This was my first time making Baklava and I was surprised how easy it was. Thank you for this yummy recipe.
