i'm a 20 something career kid who's learning to live and eat on her own after 4 years of the college cafeteria.
i've got a penchant for cooking random things at random times, and i love trying out new vegetarian recipes.
i love baking sweets..but can't eat half of them cause i'm allergic to chocolate!
My favorite things to cook
cookies. anything with broccoli..random vegetarian concoctions. lemon poppyseed anything :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
most definitely cooking norwegian krumb kaga with my sister, mom, and grandmother. its the highlight of the christmas season.
My cooking triumphs
the day i learned to cook spaghetti (yes, i know. its sad!)..i was 3 years into college and my house mate was determined that i learn something besides the microwave. so i started with spaghetti.
just the noodles, but it was one of the proudest moments of my life.
My cooking tragedies
once, i was trying to bake some sugar cookies with ingredients i had on hand....unfortunately, that meant i had no cream of tartar or milk.
the result? little round "cookies" that my roommate and i had fun playing floor hockey and practicing our aim with. they were great if you were looking for something that wouldn't break if you threw it at the wall.
our friends helped us disperse crumbs that we're still cleaning up.
