About this Cook
I took up cooking after becoming friends with a Culinary Artist. He taught me a love for cooking if not the skills needed, those I picked up on my own. I rarely follow the recipe to the letter and am constantly experimenting.
My favorite things to cook
Anything that I can share with appreciative diners.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Fleisch Kuechle, Knoephla soup, charcoal grilling, bread, cookies.
My cooking triumphs
Green Pizza, Grilled Chicken, Knoephla Soup, and Roman Flatbread.
My cooking tragedies
When I was young and attempting my first batch of peanut butter bars, I misread the hand written recipe. One ingredient was written on two lines: 1-1/2 Cups Milk chocolate chips So I added 1-1/2 Cups of Milk, then some chocolate chips.

Creamy Pheasant and Noodle
Good but not great. Easy to throw together . Be generous with the Pepper, Salt, and Paprika as it could use more flavor and perhaps a touch less water.

Fresh Mint and Cilantro Melon Salad
This is a great flavor combo, the Cilantro, Lime and Mint bring out the flavors of the fresh fruit. I didn't feel Honey Dew was enough color so I also added Cantaloupe, Strawberries, Blueberries, and Pineapple... Great Snack.

Greek Orzo Salad
Another winner though I agree with many of you who said it needed salad dressing. I omitted the liquid from the can of artichokes and used a light Ceaser dressing which gave it plenty of zip. I also marinaded the artichoke hearts in the dressing while I assembled the rest of the salad and added them along with the the dressing.
