I love to cook. I'm always looking for great tasting low carb recipes. It is very important to me, as I am a diabetic. I love to share recipes and ideas.
I enjoy readying, sewing, I also enjoy quilting, but I'm just getting started with that.
My favorite things to cook
I really don't have one favorite thing that I like to cook. I can tell you one thing that I dislike cooking. I don't eat it, don't like it. That is seafood. I have never been able to eat shelfish or any kind of fish or seafood.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite cooking tradition is on Thanksgiving. We have a stuffing recipe that totally blows the carb diet, but it's the best stuffing I've ever had. Spinach stuffing. It's so wonderful.... I'll have to share that sometime. I would love to hear what you think of it.
My cooking triumphs
My husband and I were married almost a year and I was asked to do Thanksgiving dinner for the family. Well my husband comes from a larger family. I grew up with my sister and my mom. So the 25 people that were coming to Thanksgiving dinner was a bit of a surprise. I started getting things ready to go the day before, and then..........Thanksgiving day was here. It was wonderful. I felt so proud that my first Thanksgiving with so many family there was so special and the food was excelent. From that Holiday on, I've done Thanksgiving and I wouldn't have it any other way.
My cooking tragedies
I was supposed to bake a cake for a friend of mine for her birthday. I was living with a room mate, just out of high school. I got everything mixed and got the cake mix in the pans and turned the oven on and walked away after setting the timer. I began to smell that dredded burnt smell and didn't know why. I went to check on my cake. That's when I found out that my room mate broiled last night. A big lesson learned. I always check the oven and stove controls before I set the timer and walk away. Lesson learned ........ I hope
