I am the 2nd of 4 girls born to one of the most wonderful families I know. Our get togethers revolve around food. We are not fancy eaters or fancy bakers, just good ole country cooks. I learned to cook when I was about 10 -- thanks to Hamburger Helper!! I used to love to bake a Devil's Food Cake for my Dad with the boiled chocolate icing -- the one that never wanted to get hard. I like to try new cookie recipes at Christmas time. We always have to have sausage balls, Haystacks and orange ball cookies at Christmas. It's just not the same without them. Winning blue ribbons in the County Fair with my Coconut Pound Cake when I was growing up. Putting 3 Tablespoons of baking soda instead of 3 Tablespoons of sugar in my Angel biscuits one Easter. They were renamed "soda buscuits" by the 20 guests my mother had over that day!!
