About this Cook
I am a stay at home mommy of 4 and a wifey of 8 years. I love to create! I love to scrapbook, cook, decorate, inspire and be a blessing to all I meet
My favorite things to cook
Anything and everything. I love to try new recipes and test my skills in the kitchen. I love to take on recipes that seem complicated and conquer them. That give me confidence in the kitchen and inspires me to continue on
My favorite family cooking traditions
I get a great recipe....like from allrecipes.com...and give it my own spin then try it out on my family and friends....I let them know its my first so if its horrible it doesn't kill my reputation... then they tell me if its a keeper or not. I love the reactions I get.
My cooking triumphs
Wow thats a hard one cuz they all seem triumphant. But I did make my first Thanksgiving dinner on my own this past Thanksgiving with every recipe from this website. I prepared every little detail to it so I had minor things to do the day of and it went so flawless and smoothly, I could hardly believe it. The problem is I think I have a new job on Thanksgiving....:)
My cooking tragedies
I recently made some enchilada sauce and wasn't paying attention as well as I should have. It burned a little needless to say and the whole sauce took on this bitter after taste. It was so gross. Luckily I had extra ingredients on hand and was able to whip some more up in time, and believe me I payed much closer attention after that

Chicken Pot Pie IX
This recipe was definitely worth the 5 stars I gave it, even though I did change it stlightly. I added the water that I boiled the veggies and chicken in to my flour mixture to make sure it wasn't too dry(about 2 cups). I added 1/4 tsp. more salt, 1/4 tsp. garlic powder, 1/4 cup more flour and 1/4 cup more milk to make extra gravy. I used a 9x9 pan and it baked for 30 min and used the egg white on the bottom crust per others suggestions. It was just perfect. I did let it sit out for 15 minutes to set. My kids loved it and I had to stop them from eating it all so daddy would have some when he gets home!! YUMMY YUM YUM

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way
This was tender and seasoned right, however next time I will use a cooking bag as others suggested to get even more tender.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs
I wasn't too impressed with this one. I was looking for a more authentic tasting sauce and this one was a bit lacking in flavor. I did love the meatballs in which I used ground turkey instead. I may use those with another sauce recipe
