About this Cook
I work as a consultant and am on the road a good bit; when I'm home, I love to relax and cook with my husband.
My favorite things to cook
Comfort foods; healthy meals -- only organic meats and as much organic other foods as possible.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Barbecuing for family and friends Traditional holiday foods Fourth of July picnics
My cooking triumphs
Triumph is a strong word, so maybe only meal to really qualify would be my part of a gourmet Greek meal many years ago. Everyone who ate not only my Moussaka but the other dishes brought by other cooks declared the meal a culinary masterpiece.
My cooking tragedies
Red velvet cake put in the oven to bake while I took a walk. Electricity went out. Oven went off and came back on and cake poured over tube pan, made its way to oven door, and oozed out the bottom. I was cleaning red goo from that oven for years.

Pumpkin Cake II
I made this for a dessert buffet and it was popular. I thought the cake mix crumbs tasted like cake mix. I'd love to have a similar recipe that did not need a cake mix.
