About this Cook
I have been happily married for 12 years and have 2 rambunctious boys ages 6 and 2. I love to entertain and try out new things on my "guinea pigs" and sometimes its great, other times I have to apologise:) I wouldn't consider myself an expert by any means, but I'm learning and branching out more and more and it's a fun journey.
My favorite things to cook
I have fun cooking Middle Eastern food. It's just so different from our every day stuff that I generally make, like Mexican, Italian, etc. And my husband, who hates to cook, is from the Israel, so I like to see how it turns out against food he grew up on.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite food in the whole wide world is my grandmother's potato salad and baked beans. Growing up, every time we would go up to visit, she would have a big batch of potato salad and beans waiting just for me. Even now as an adult with kids of my own, she still has it waiting when my family comes to visit. With my own kids now, every Sunday during the holidays, we make Christmas pancakes. I have molds of a Christmas tree, snowman, snowflake, and a gingerbread man and they have a blast eating it.
My cooking triumphs
The candy I made last Christmas was definately a triumph for me. I had been so averse to making candy for years and years and when I finally did it, I found out it wasn't so hard after all.
My cooking tragedies
I remember the first time I made filet minon I completely charred it. Not good...

Country Seed Bread
ooohhhh...this is so yummy. only changes i made were to use 1 cup bread flour & 1 cup WW Bread flour & i added a T of vital wheat gluten. toasted the seeds in the toaster oven, threw it all in the breadmaker last night and i woke up to the smell of fresh baked, yummy bread first thing this morning. will definately be making this again.
