About this Cook
I live in the suburbs of Seattle with my husband and two cats. We're both teachers and very busy, so I have to make time to cook. I have been cooking for my family since I could remember, and there's nothing more satisifying:).
My favorite things to cook
I love different ethnic foods: enchiladas, lasagna, stir fries, etc. Desserts are always fun, and I'm always searching for the perfect cookie recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was tall enough to reach the counter...about 6 years old, my Grandma started letting me help in the kitchen. She showed me how to cook so many different things. Every holiday, my relatives would get together and we would all crowd the kitchen creating a huge delicious meal.
My cooking triumphs
Finally figuring out how to make an apple pie like my Grandma does:).
My cooking tragedies
Couldn't make bread for the longest time. I would always kill the yeast somehow. Once I made cinnamon rolls for my friend, and they turned into cinnamon cookies, because they didn't rise at all.

Baked French Fries II
Delicious! I used fresh basil from my garden, Johnny's seasoning salt, freshly ground pepper and sprinkled cayenne pepper over the potatoes. Spicy and delicious, and non-greasy! Also, I just used two good sized potatoes and it was plenty for my husband and I.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken
It was delicious. I doubled the amount of pepper and cayenne pepper and it was great. Also when I was finished browning the chicken, I removed it and added a tbs. or so of flour and 3 tbs chicken broth. I blended it and then added the chicken, poured half the lime juice on it, added the garlic, and then when i turned the chicken added more lime juice. I also added Tequila toward the end of the cooking time. All that produced a delicious chicken with its own gravy. mmm!
