i love to cook (and eat). coming from a big family of 9 siblings, naturally to us, family gatherings mean serious eating.anyway, i love to read, bake, quilting and embroidering. pastries. breads. cakes. muffins. scones. pasta. briyani rice. every year when my family congregates at my house for Eid Mubarrak, the ladies will assemble in the kitchen, and there will be at least 3 people cooking at once. we will make nasi minyak (some sort of a pilaf) with some beef dish, and acar, which is fresh pickles. my cooking triumph? when i finally and successfully made croissant and danish...from scratch! thanks to my niece (a chef) who gave me pointers on how to make the pastry. i tried making angel cake and the fluted tin is just too small. the cake batter just spilled over and made a mess in my oven.
