About this Cook
I am soooooooo happily married with five beautiful children, the youngest is still a small baby. I love to cook with my kids and husband. Dinner is always an adventure.
My favorite things to cook
Pumpkin pie, salmon skillet, freshly baked wheat bread.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Autumn is our special time. It starts with picking Washington apples off the trees, baking wheat bread to baking pumpkins for fresh pumpkin pies and pumpkin soups, pumpkin bars, pumpkin cookies, pumpkins window boxes, pumpkin decorations and pumpkin parties in the fall.
My cooking triumphs
I not only make the most beautiful pumpkin pies they taste better than any pumpkin pie you've ever tried! I grind my own wheat and make the most wonderful wheat bread. It's light and fluffly with a nice crunchy crust.
My cooking tragedies
I burned the chocolate when making mole. Oh that was bad. We were sick for days!

Grandma Snyder's Oatmeal Cake
This cake is a crowd pleaser. I just made it for a church function and everyone was raving about how good it was. They all want the recipe. It is a nice old fashioned change to most desserts. I like to make it for Easter and other healthy holidays.

Sunday Dinner Rolls
Best rolls I've ever made!!! My eight year old helped me make these for our Easter Dinner and they turned out amazing!!! The dough was way to sticky to work with so we rolled them out with a lot of extra flour to make the croissants with. We brushed them with butter as they rose for the two hours and then we brushed them with butter after they came out of the oven. They were light, fluffy and the taste was divine!

Chicken Makhani (Indian Butter Chicken)
This was easy to make and so flavorful! Even my 8 year old loved it! I've never had an Indian Dish turn out this well before! I had to substitute evaporated milk for the half and half, but it still turned out really well. This would work well vegitarian as well. This was so good it cured my fear of making Indian Food.
