About this Cook
I'm the great grand-daughter of one of the first Chinese restaurant owners established in NYC.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook anything that friends and family would be willing to eat. No one starves in my house.
My favorite family cooking traditions
In the summer, when it was too hot to cook every day, we used to make a week's worth of chinese wontons and reheat as needed. There were 13 of us living in a house, so do the math!
My cooking triumphs
I used to eat out all the time. What a joy it is to be able to cook and explore new cuisines.
My cooking tragedies
Fish, scallops and shellfish have always been my downfall. I always seem to overcook it. I also made some braided raisin bread that was as hard as a rock.

Dinah's Stuffed Mushrooms
These were quite delicious for a recent dinner party. This was one of the first dishes to disappear!

Pear Pie III
This was a really great recipe. Use really ripe pears for this. The custard was delicious and would also be a great base for a mixed berry pie.

Baklava
How can a simple recipe be so absolutely scrumptious! This is one of my frequently requested desserts when I visit friends and family. Don't let working with phyllo daunt you. Just cover it with a damp cloth and be patient with it.
