I didn't think this was bland at all. It was really excellent--my husband and I devoured it. The only change I made was adding 2 cloves of minced garlic when I added the mushrooms. I used a brut champagne. Will make again when we have champagne to spare.

Microwave Pralines

Zucchini Bread

This was good! I skipped the chocolate chips and added craisins instead. My husband and I ate it all. I might also add some nuts next time.

Autumn Spice Ham Steak

Wow. I love the way the apples picked up just a little bit of salty flavor from the ham. I used Grade B real maple syrup, as suggested by another poster. I also used just a touch less than the recipe called for because that's all I had. It was very subtle--not overpowering at all.

Jam Filled Butter Cookies

These were so easy and fun to make! My 4 year old helped. We used a jar of peach preserves from a Harry and David's gift basket that probably would have gone unused otherwise. I used the baggie tip and it was brilliant.

Fresh Cherry Cobbler

I liked this cobbler a lot. I doubled the cherries and cut back on the sugar and butter by 1/4 cup each. It was a pain in the neck to pit all the cherries, but I would probably make this again.

Cornish Game Hens with Garlic and Rosemary

I thought this was really good. I used dried rosemary leaves since I didn't have any fresh and I cut the garlic in 1/2 since I was only making 2 chickens, but I left everything else the same since a lot of posters said that extra juice was helpful. I'll make it again.

Blueberry Scones

These were pretty good and fairly easy to make. Even though they aren't *supposed* to be very sweet, I think I would have liked them better had they been just a bit sweeter.

Quick Creamy Potato Soup

Loved this. Added a bit of celery salt to the potatoes when they were cooking and left out the dill weed since my husband doesn't like it. Will definately make again.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

I used sliced strawberries and blueberries--a little more than the recipe called for. It was nice and easy to make. I think it tasted better served cold as opposed to warm or room temperature.
