About this Cook
From Ohio, raised in South Florida...but I can't say that I am from there. I have moved around my entire life, including my time in the military. For this reason, I enjoy a variety of cusines. I love FOOD! Mostly hot and spicy foods! I try to maintain a healthy lifestyle, so calorie intake is very important to me also. My husband and I enjoy cooking things together, but I must admit we have a "too many cooks in the kitchen" rule. We both have our own cooking style, so look out...the flour may fly! He makes homemade pizza dough and breads that are awesome, but he is still looking to perfect his thin crust. Don't ask for the dough recipe, he has handwritten notes on more recipe cards than I do! He's cute. I love to cook for him, as he does for me.
My favorite things to cook
Pasta dishes, anything chocolate, healthy versions of southern cusine, cookies, and appetizers. I am also intrigued by casseroles. :D
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies!
My cooking triumphs
I am a Jambalaya master! :D
My cooking tragedies
Ugh...meatloaf, believe it or not!

Mother-in-law Chicken Soup
WOW! Super easy and super yummy. The only things that I changed was that I used chicken/thigh quarters, salt & cracked pepper, and brown rice (my preference). I also did not discard the onions, carrots, or celery...too much flavor to let go of. This was a BIG HIT, especially with the cornbread!

Sour Cream Enchiladas
Pretty good, simple and easy. I would suggest sauteing the onions first though. Plus, I added salsa and Tobasco on top. Yum!
